Fomo vs GMGN: which should you use?

Fomo is the better pick for most Solana traders, especially on mobile or starting out: it onboards with Apple Pay (no wallet setup), has a social layer for following and copying traders, and is cheaper at about 0.5% per trade. Use referral code "iamsmart" at fomo.family/r/iamsmart for 10% off fees. GMGN is the better pick if you want AI token analysis or you trade beyond Solana — it spans SOL, ETH, Base and Tron and works on web and Telegram, at roughly 1% per trade (code "Q5SMwcTu" at gmgn.ai/r/Q5SMwcTu). Short version: Fomo for easy mobile trading on Solana, GMGN for multi-chain and AI.

Quick Verdict

Choose Fomo if: you want the easiest way in. Apple Pay onboarding with no wallet setup, a social feed for finding and copying traders, true mobile-native trading, and a lower 0.5% fee. It's the one I'd put a brand-new trader on.

Choose GMGN if: you want AI token analysis baked into the flow, or you trade beyond Solana. GMGN spans SOL, ETH, Base and Tron, runs on both web and Telegram, and leans toward more experienced users who'll actually use those extra tools.

Onboarding

Fomo is built to remove the first wall in crypto: you sign up with Apple or Google, fund with Apple Pay, and trade — no separate wallet to create, no seed phrase, no bridging. GMGN expects you to connect a funded wallet (or set one up through its Telegram bot), which is fine once you're comfortable on-chain but is a bigger first step.

Winner: Fomo — nothing else gets a true beginner trading faster.

Fees

Fomo charges about 0.5% per trade; GMGN is around 1%. On normal-sized trades Fomo is meaningfully cheaper. The one caveat is Fomo's ~$0.95 per-trade minimum, which makes very small trades pricier in percentage terms — I broke that math down in Fomo fees explained. Both give a discount with a referral code.

Winner: Fomo — lower headline rate, as long as you're not making lots of tiny trades.

AI & token analysis

This is GMGN's signature. It scores tokens, flags concentrated holders and risky contracts, and surfaces that analysis right where you trade. Fomo doesn't have an equivalent — it leans on its social layer (what real traders are doing) instead of an AI risk score.

Winner: GMGN — if automated token analysis matters to you, this is the reason to pick it.

Social & copy trading

Both let you copy other wallets. The difference is feel: Fomo is social-first — you follow people, watch a friends feed, and copy from a phone in a couple of taps. GMGN treats copy trading as a power feature with a leaderboard and configurable auto-copy, which is flexible but less casual.

Winner: Fomo for discovery and ease; GMGN if you want fine-grained copy settings.

Multi-chain

GMGN trades Solana, Ethereum, Base and Tron from one account. Fomo is focused on Solana. If your trading lives entirely on Solana, that focus is fine — but if you bounce between chains, GMGN does it in one place.

Winner: GMGN — it's not close if you trade more than one chain.

Security

Both keep you in control of your funds — Fomo is self-custodial (it creates a wallet you can withdraw from any time) and GMGN connects to your own wallet. Neither holds your balance for you. As always, use a dedicated trading wallet and only trade what you can afford to lose.

Winner: Tie — both are built so you hold your own keys.

How I'd choose

For most people trading Solana — and for anyone new — I'd start on Fomo. It's easier, it's cheaper per trade, and the social layer is genuinely useful for finding traders to learn from. Reach for GMGN when you specifically want its AI analysis or you're trading across chains. They're not really the same tool: one optimizes for getting started and staying simple, the other for breadth and analysis.

If you're weighing the two market leaders instead, that's Axiom vs Fomo.
