Axiom Tutorial: Complete Guide to Trading on Axiom
Everything you need to go from zero to trading memecoins on Axiom.
What You'll Learn
- Setting up your Axiom account
- Navigating the interface
- Making your first trade
- Wallet tracking
- Using DCA, Trailing Stop & Dev Sell orders
- Optimizing your settings
Setting Up Axiom
Step 1: Create a Trading Wallet
Before anything else, create a dedicated wallet for trading. Never use your main wallet that holds significant assets.
- 1. Install Phantom browser extension
- 2. Create a new wallet (don't use your existing one)
- 3. Save your recovery phrase securely (write it down, not digital)
- 4. Fund with SOL you're willing to lose
Important: A dedicated trading wallet protects your main holdings. If something goes wrong (malicious token, user error), your other assets are safe.
Step 2: Connect to Axiom
- 1. Go to axiom.trade (bookmark it for safety)
- 2. Click "Connect Wallet" in the top right
- 3. Select Phantom and approve the connection
- 4.
When prompted for invite code, enter:
sellpump - 5. Complete any account setup steps
Understanding the Interface
Axiom's interface has several key areas. Here's what each does:
Top Bar
- • Search: Find tokens by name or paste contract address
- • Wallet: Your connected wallet and SOL balance
- • Settings: Slippage, priority fees, preferences
Main Panel (Token View)
- • Price chart: Real-time price movement
- • Token info & risk panel: Market cap, volume, holder count, top-holder %, dev/sniper/insider/bundler %, and LP-burned status
- • Bubble map: A live wallet-cluster map on every token, switchable between InsightX, Faster100x, Bubblemaps.io, and CabalSpy
- • Buy/Sell panel: Execute trades
- • Recent trades: See what others are doing
Side Panel
- • Portfolio: Your current holdings
- • Watchlist: Tokens you're tracking
- • Trackers: Seven categories — Wallet, Social (X/Twitter), Discover, Pulse, Alpha, Whale, and PnL — each toggleable and hotkey-bindable
Pro tip: Spend 10-15 minutes just exploring the interface before trading. Click around, view different tokens, check the settings. Familiarity prevents mistakes.
One more thing worth knowing: Axiom also runs full Predictions markets (sports, politics, crypto outcomes) as a separate nav tab alongside memecoin trading — not something this tutorial covers, but good to know it's there. Full breakdown of the toolkit above in the complete Axiom review.
Making Your First Trade
Buying a Token
- 1 Find the token
Use the search bar to find by name, or paste the contract address directly. Contract addresses are more reliable—names can be duplicated.
- 2 Check the safety indicators
Axiom shows warnings for suspicious tokens. Look for: holder distribution, liquidity, mint authority, and any red flags. Don't ignore warnings.
- 3 Set your buy amount
Enter how much SOL you want to spend. Start small (0.1-0.5 SOL) while learning. You can use quick buttons (0.5, 1, 2 SOL) or enter a custom amount.
- 4 Check slippage settings
Slippage is how much price movement you'll accept. For memecoins, 5-15% is common. Too low = failed trades. Too high = worse prices.
- 5 Execute the trade
Click Buy and confirm in your wallet. The transaction will process in seconds. You'll see the tokens appear in your portfolio.
Selling a Token
- 1. Click on the token in your portfolio (or search for it)
- 2. Switch to the Sell tab
- 3. Choose percentage (25%, 50%, 100%) or enter custom amount
- 4. Click Sell and confirm in wallet
Pro tip: Take profits in stages. When up 2x, sell 50% to recover your initial. Let the rest ride as "free" money. This removes emotional attachment.
Advanced Features
Wallet Tracking (Axiom's Version of Copy Trading)
Axiom's real copy-trading angle is its Trackers panel — seven categories in total (Wallet, Social/X, Discover, Pulse, Alpha, Whale, PnL), each toggleable and hotkey-bindable. Add a wallet you want to follow, and its buys and sells surface in your feed in real time, so you can act on what a wallet you trust is doing without digging for it manually.
Warning: Verify a wallet's track record before following it. Some "successful" wallets are actually insiders who get in before pumps. Their entries won't work for you.
Advanced Orders: DCA, Trailing Stop, and Dev Sell
Beyond a simple market buy/sell, Axiom's "Adv." tab gives you three real order types:
- • DCA: scale into or out of a position over multiple buys instead of going all-in at one price.
- • Trailing Stop: a stop-loss that moves up as the price rises, locking in gains without you watching the chart.
- • Dev Sell: set a minimum percentage, and Axiom automatically sells your position the moment the token's developer wallet dumps above that threshold.
Fee Presets & Auto Fee
Rather than picking a fee level per trade, Axiom lets you save three fee presets — each with its own slippage, priority fee, and bribe settings — so you can switch between them with one click depending on what you're trading (a lower-risk setup for liquid tokens, a more aggressive one for fresh launches). There's also an "Auto Fee" toggle that calculates priority fee and bribe automatically up to a max cap you set — worth turning on once you're comfortable, since it removes the guesswork of setting fees manually on every trade.
Recommended Settings
| Setting | Beginner | Experienced |
|---|---|---|
| Slippage | 10-15% | 5-10% (adjust per trade) |
| Fee Preset | A lower/safer preset until you're comfortable | Auto Fee enabled, cap set per situation |
| Default Buy | 0.1-0.5 SOL | Based on conviction |
| Trailing Stop | Set one (-30% to -50%) so you're protected if you step away | Varies by trade |
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- ⚠ Trading too big: Start with 0.1-0.5 SOL per trade until you know what you're doing.
- ⚠ Ignoring safety warnings: Axiom flags risky tokens for a reason. Don't YOLO into red flags.
- ⚠ No stop losses: Hope isn't a strategy. Set automatic sells to protect against dumps.
- ⚠ Chasing pumps: If something already 10x'd, you're probably too late. Wait for the next one.
- ⚠ Not taking profits: Greed kills gains. Take profits on the way up—don't wait for the "top."
